Creating a circular economy in the lighting industry and beyond

01 March / 13.15 - 14.00

Technical Memorandum (TM) 66 – Creating a circular economy in the lighting industry is the result of a cross industry collaboration and a desire to provide practical guidance and tools to enable people to develop a circular, sustainable approach to lighting and building services engineering more broadly. This session will see the lead authors, Bob Bohannon and Kristina Allison set out how circular economy principles can be practically applied, sector by sector. Joined by Roger Sexton of Stoane Lighting, they will discuss the practical implications of using the accompanying Circular Economy Assessment Methods (CEAM) in relation to the design and manufacturing of products, as well as referencing CIBSE TM65 – Embodied carbon in building services and TM67 – Electrification of building for net zero.
