KEYNOTE STAGE 2
Planning in response to the climate and ecological emergency
02 March / 15.15 - 16.00
Most local authorities have declared a climate and, often an ecological, emergency. The impacts of these emergencies affect many aspects of our lives including health and wellbeing for ourselves and our environments. Local authorities now need to turn their attention to what this means for them in practice, how will they deliver on these declarations? What should they do in planning? What will be the role of design codes? How will they deliver biodiversity and environmental net gain? All questions for the transformative changes that must take place.
This session will explore the issues.
