The role of buildings in a sustainable future: The Impact Stage at Futurebuild 2025

The built environment must make a major contribution to the ‘rapid and far-reaching transitions’ stressed by the IPCC for long-term sustainability. The Buildings Impact Stage will focus on the critical role of buildings in achieving these goals from design to operation.

A Platform for Change

The aim of the seminar sessions organised by our partners on the Buildings Impact Stage is to present ideas and solutions to achieve our collective endeavour of delivering net-zero, climate-resilient buildings that meet high safety standards – benefiting both people and the environment.

Sponsored by HG Matthews and featuring expertise from organisations such as the Passivhaus Trust, Healthy Homes and Buildings Coalition, MBPA, UKGBC, and many more, the stage will provide practical guidance across all critical aspects of building design and operation.

Amongst others, the Buildings Impact Stage will be welcoming Jane Goddard, Deputy CEO and Chief Marketing Officer, BRE; Dr Rachel Mitchell, Greenbox Associates; Vicki Reynolds, Chief Technology Officer at Catalyst; John Welch FRICS, Commercial Director – Estates at Crown Commercial Service; Ashley Bateson, Director at Hoare Lea; Oliver Heath, Director at Oliver Heath Design; Seb Laan Lomas, Associate and Passivhaus Designer at Architype; Nikolay Shahpazov, Architect at Bennetts; Anna Oxenham, Senior Sustainability Manager at Mace; Ann Vanner FCIAT, Founder at Healing Buildings to name but a few.
