This article discusses the role of architects in transitioning our industry towards a circular economy. It highlights the need to shift from a linear design mentality to concepts that consider material disassembly and reuse. It challenges us to look beyond the incredible value that architects can bring to buildings and also recognise the growing importance of the material commodity value of a building that can be disassembled and reused.
