The JK® system is an in-ground, water-based underfloor heating solution uniquely designed for installation in existing floor constructions, including concrete, screed, or dry-board. Pioneered by JK in 1994, this patented method enables homeowners to upgrade to a modern, energy-efficient, and comfortable heating system without extensive renovation.
At the heart of this solution is the JK floorgrinder, an advanced tool designed and invented by JK Floorheating. The floorgrinder mills precise channels into the existing floor surface, allowing underfloor heating pipes to be installed just below the surface without raising the floor height or requiring the removal of the existing concrete. This revolutionary approach makes it possible to introduce underfloor heating systems without the usual construction complexities, providing a practical and efficient solution for modern heating needs.
Over the past three decades, nearly a quarter of a million homes across Western Europe have benefited from this well-tested solution. JK’s in-house trained installers are skilled in meeting stringent installation standards, ensuring optimal system performance as the primary heat source in any building.
Our innovative floor heating system is both cost-effective and sustainable, aligning with today’s and tomorrow’s stringent demands for efficiency and reduced energy usage. By utilizing the existing concrete floor surface as the radiant heat emitter, our system significantly minimizes additional carbon production during installation. We only supply the necessary pipe and manifold, as the pipe carrier is already in place, which reduces both the cost and energy typically required for conventional overlay underfloor systems.
This approach not only leverages the existing concrete surfaces but also allows us to mill bespoke designs on-site. This capability enables us to adapt the system’s heat output room by room, ensuring that even the most challenging spaces are adequately heated. By optimizing the heat output in this manner, we can reduce the flow temperature, thereby minimizing the SCOP and enhancing the lifetime efficiency of the entire heating system.
Furthermore, our milling process allows for the seamless integration of old and new sections in renovation projects. Unlike the traditional “stepped” approach, where an overlay is used in older sections and in-screed systems in new areas, we provide a unified solution that ensures consistency and efficiency throughout the property.
Moreover, the JK® system complies with the latest UK regulations, including PART L, which requires improvements to align with net-zero emissions goals. Unlike traditional underfloor heating methods that involve extensive excavation and concrete work, the JK® system minimizes environmental impact while delivering significant energy savings—making it the preferred choice for sustainable home improvement.
Our objective – To provide efficient and affordable, comfortable heating solutions, available to all, with a reduced impact on the environment.
