That is to say that Lamella MMC makes CLT into a practical solution for virtually any structure.
We set up Lamella MMC 5 years ago because CLT offers a realistic and attractive solution to so many of the challenges that the construction industry faces.
Carbon emissions of materials and the operational carbon performance of buildings are coming under ever greater scrutiny. CLT stores carbon and is warm to the touch offering very good insulation properties (U-value of 100mm CLT is 0.18) and excellent embodied and operational carbon scores- and thinner walls.
We have been urged to build off-site to ensure higher quality and productivity. CLT is a panelised system manufactured in specialist factories to tight tolerances and so it meets that requirement.
Clients are demanding tighter build schedules. A CLT superstructure can be installed in a fraction of the time of a masonry structure saving prelims and finance costs.
Poor ground conditions may make a site undevelopable if the structure is too heavy. CLT is lightweight; about 20% of the weight of concrete by volume saving groundworks costs and bringing marginal sites into productive use or increasing the yield on difficult sites.
