Solar Flow is an Imperial College spin off developing a low-cost, novel PV-Thermal (PVT) panel with greater electrical and thermal yield.

Solar Flow offers a unique spectral splitting PV-Thermal design that uses the energy from the light spectrum that does not contribute to the photovoltaic effect to heat the fluid at higher temperatures > 60 °C and without overheating the PV cells. Thus, it can also be used for domestic hot water and space heating, which represent around 40% of global heat demand.

This is a disruptive advance that has the potential to penetrate and expand the solar energy market. Solar Flow panels can compete with Solar Thermal panels in cost and thermal efficiency and provide electricity with a similar efficiency to PV panels. Solar Flow panel can deliver 30% improved RoI compared to standard panels. This unique selling point, gives Solar Flow the potential to address the $40 Billion Solar rooftop market.
