Daylight and wellbeing for better homes - curated by the Good Homes Alliance

12 May 2026
Buildings and Materials Stage

Organised by the Good Homes Alliance and chaired by Neil Freshwater, Public Affairs Lead of VELUX GB & Ireland, this seminar will explore how good daylight design can deliver better outcomes for residents and housing providers alike. Using insights from high-quality housing projects and research, the session will examine the role of daylight in supporting health, wellbeing and comfort, while also helping to reduce energy use and operational costs. The discussion will focus on practical design decisions, trade-offs and early-stage choices that influence daylight quality, and how housing providers, designers and engineers can work together to create homes that are healthier, more liveable and more resilient over the long term.
