Making space for water: turning grey to green with sustainable drainage - curated by ICE and CIWEM
Our existing towns and cities were never built to cope with the challenges we have with urban growth, rainfall and surface water runoff. Retrofitting sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) offers practical, nature-based ways to manage water where it falls – helping to reduce flood risk, improve water quality and create healthier, more liveable streets and spaces. This seminar developed by CIWEM and ICE explores how we can deliver multiple benefits, respond to varied drivers and transform our existing urban spaces into more attractive, resilient, climate-ready places.
