12 May 2026
Futurebuild Connect Lounge
Futurebuild Connect Lounge

This interactive deep-dive session offers attendees the opportunity to move beyond inspiration and into practical exploration of community-led retrofit codesign. Building on the case studies showcased in Session 1, participants will break into smaller facilitated groups to examine specific projects, tools and approaches in more detail.

Working in small groups around a retrofit scenario, attendees will:
Imagine themselves in a scenario where community codesign is required
Identify the trickiest issues that arise in community codesign
Rotate between facilitated groups and learn from others' perspectives and lived experience
Collaboratively workshop and develop practical responses to different challenges and opportunities

This session is ideal for local authorities, practitioners, housing providers, contractors, community organisations and policy teams looking to strengthen their codesign practice and learn how others are tackling similar challenges on the ground.

Leave with fresh perspectives, tested ideas and transferable approaches you can apply to your own retrofit projects.
