This session will unpack the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard—developed through cross-industry collaboration—focusing on critical areas like upfront carbon, operational carbon reduction, operational energy efficiency and performance for sustainable buildings, and low carbon architecture. It will spotlight CIBSE’s leadership in shaping embodied carbon guidance. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how the Standard defines net zero across operational and embodied emissions, and how CIBSE’s technical work supports its implementation across building types and lifecycle stages.
