ARM-Hub 2.0: Unlocking Secure Data Sharing for Heat Networks

UKDEA Training Hub

This seminar explores how the heat network sector can move from fragmented, siloed data to secure, real-time data sharing across operators, asset owners, consultants and regulators. As regulation tightens and performance expectations rise, access to trusted, auditable data is becoming critical to compliance, optimisation and investor confidence.

Nick Vigors, Chief Technical Officer at Armadillo Analytics, will introduce ARM-Hub 2.0 - a next-generation digital backbone designed to standardise and govern data flows across decentralised energy networks. Building on a validated prototype recognised at the UKDEA Awards, the platform enables organisations to connect disparate systems, manage permissions, and share live data securely, with full auditability and automated data-sharing agreements.

The session will demonstrate how this approach supports emerging frameworks such as HNTAS KPIs, reduces compliance burden, and enables more efficient, transparent network performance. Attendees will gain a practical view of how interoperable, vendor-neutral data infrastructure can underpin the next phase of heat network scale-up and decarbonisation.

Nick Vigors is Chief Technical Officer at Armadillo Analytics, where he leads the development of secure, scalable software platforms for billing, heat networks and energy infrastructure analytics. With a background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, he brings more than 20 years of experience spanning power generation, major project delivery and advanced data engineering.

Before Armadillo, Nick spent five years in operational CCGT power generation and ten years delivering energy-from-waste projects. In the final three years, he led an advanced digitalisation team working across energy-from-waste, biomass, anaerobic digestion and power-to-gas, and helped pioneer the use of Apache Kafka in distributed control systems.

He brings a practical, industry-grounded perspective on how trusted, auditable data infrastructure can improve compliance, transparency and performance across decentralised energy networks.
