Ahmed Gilani

BEng Architectural Engineering, Vice President Construction Society , University of Reading and Constructionarium alumnus

Ahmed Gilani is a final-year BEng Architectural Engineering student at the University of Reading, where he serves as Vice President of the Construction Society and Senior Representative for Built Environment. Educated at Ecolint, Geneva, he combines international experience with a deep commitment to empowering the future of the built environment.

As a Constructionarium project manager alumnus, Ahmed successfully led a team constructing a 9-metre replica of Barcelona's communications tower under genuine site conditions during a university module; seeing firsthand the gap between design intent and on-site reality and the critical role coordination plays in delivery.

Driven by this conviction that construction excellence requires shared knowledge and vision, Ahmed founded Built Environment Insights, a newsletter where he shares personal insights and global perspectives within the industry, reaching practitioners and professionals navigating the sector.

A young professional committed to bridging the gap between climate strategy and construction delivery, Ahmed is passionate about empowering the next generation to lead meaningful change in the built environment.
