Andrew Hinchley
Andrew joined the Greater London Authority in 2024, leading on the development of programmes and policy to support a greener, more climate-resilient London, including London’s Green Infrastructure Framework.
A Chartered Landscape Architect, Andrew has more than two decades of experience spanning design and capital project delivery, programme development, green space management, strategic planning and policy development. His PhD research explored long term community involvement in green spaces, shaping a career long interest in stewardship, governance and inclusive approaches to placemaking.
Prior to joining the GLA, Andrew spent more than 11 years at the London Borough of Camden, including roles as Head of Green Space and Head of Community Partnerships. He developed an innovative and successful Green Space Investment Programme and delivery team and helped achieved infrastructure mitigation associated with HS2, the Parks for Health and Highway Greening Accelerator initiatives, and award-winning public realm schemes such as Alfred Place Gardens.
Andrew’s work is underpinned by a strong focus on achieving inclusive and equitable access to green space and successful long term management, with a particular interest in how green infrastructure can be effectively delivered at scale within complex urban environments.
