Christopher is an architect specialising in sustainable residential projects in conservation areas. His practice in Islington London is www.procter-rihl.com. The practice is known for a house in Brazil which won the first RIBA award in South America and was subsequently listed (equivalent to grade II in the UK) after only 12 years. He was course leader of technical studies MA Architecture at the RCA from 2008-2016. He is the author of the 2023 ‘Climate Emergency Conservation Area Toolkit’ and will be launching the follow up detailed book on windows, 2026 ‘Climate Emergency Heritage Sash Window Best Practice - Vacuum Glazing’. He will discuss the four companies supplying this glazing in the Uk, its history, and how it is key to a low carbon transition of the UK’s heritage homes which make up to 25% of our housing stock.
