Colin Rose
Colin is an architect, a Lecturer at the Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, UCL, and a Founding Partner of UK CLT. His work focuses on bringing about a more resourceful and circular construction industry. At UCL, he leads research investigating the reuse, repurposing and upcycling of materials, with a focus on recovered timber. UK CLT aims to commercialise that research by localising the manufacture of mass timber using high-quality wood from demolition. These products have been demonstrated in a world-first pilot, CascadeUp, exhibited at Futurebuild, the UCL Festival of Engineering, Here East and the London Design Festival.
UK CLT and engineers Simple Works won a WasteBuild Zero Award 2023. Colin was the winner of Ramboll’s inaugural Flemming Bligaard Award 2020. He previously worked at ReLondon as Strategic Advisor and Partnership Lead for the Built Environment, at architects Haworth Tompkins and Reed Watts, and is a Public Practice Alumnus.
