Having almost 30 years in specification within the construction industry and the last 3 years with Accoya, my aim is to engage with the architects and designers alike and highlight a company that enhances the natural properties of wood to make high performance and sustainable building products.
Its proprietary acetylation process boosts the already naturally occurring acetyl content of wood and by doing so, reduces the ability of the wood to absorb water, rendering it more dimensionally stable. Accoya is a real, solid wood setting for material performance, finish and sustainability. Its primary applications for Accoya wood include windows, doors, shutters, decking, cladding, and others.
