Derek Horrocks is a renowned industry leader in decarbonisation, with a passion for improving the sustainability and energy efficiency of buildings across the UK. He is the Chairperson of the National Home Decarbonisation Group (NHDG), which he established in 2023 and actively engages with government to develop new standards and improvements in the sector. Derek is a member of the steering groups directly responsible for PAS2030 and PAS2035, the standards to which the retrofit industry looks toward to ensure high quality.

Derek is the Owner and Chair of Sustainable Investments, which incorporates four distinct and successful companies – Sustainable Building Services, Sustainable Energy Services, Permarock and Sustainable Smart Technologies and the £70m Group continues to go from strength to strength.

His commitment to this sector has been recognised and he was awarded the ‘Unlock Net Zero Climate Champion’ in 2024 and is a Founding Life Fellow of the Retrofit Academy. In addition to the NHDG, he also chairs the National Insulation Association (NIA) and is a and is a Non-executive Director of the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA).
