Edward Powe
Edward is the founding director of Studio Folk Architects, a design practice championing natural materials and collaboration in construction. The studio works across the public and private sectors, delivering projects including private homes, workspaces, public realm and heritage work.
Edward leads projects across the south of England, including a new-build home on an archaeologically sensitive site in Devon, which utilises natural stone and wood fibre insulation and aims to set a benchmark for sustainable housing.
He is a champion of natural stone as a sustainable building material. Recent projects include an extension to a listed terrace in east London, using UK-sourced stone bricks as a carbon-saving alternative to clay. His expertise in stone construction has been featured in leading industry publications.
In 2025, Edward was recognised as an RIBA Rising Star for his design-led practice and leadership. He founded Studio Folk in 2023 following award-winning academic work at the University of Kent, the Royal College of Art and the University of Cambridge.
