Fred’s career in the construction industry nearly 20 years ago, as a foreman and then operations manager in the temporary structures arena. From there, he became a site manager, running heavy cut and carve refurbishment and restoration projects in London which included the Royal Academy of Arts. Subsequently Fred project managed an eight-storey Kensington office refurbishment over the London Underground and the from-scratch rebuild of a twelve-storey city office block.
Since joining Barr Build in 2019, Fred has been focused on the delivery of large-scale listed estate projects in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. Fred has a wealth of knowledge working on historic projects with a strong focus on the use of natural materials, traditional build methods and conservation. The character and versatility of natural stone are something he has a particular passion about.
