Managing Director of Sustainable Energy Ltd, I’m a Chartered Engineer with 27+ years of technical and commercial experience delivering heat networks, decentralised and renewable energy systems across the UK.
I lead multidisciplinary engineering and advisory teams delivering some of the country’s most ambitious heat network and decarbonisation projects from concept to operation in cities like Bristol, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Solihull, and several London boroughs.
I have experience in developing projects to unlock waste heat sources from disused coal mines, data centres, energy recovery plants, wastewater, and rivers to supply heat for citywide and rural heat networks. I’ve also led the design of large-scale heat pump systems providing heating and cooling using seasonal energy storage solutions. My background also spans renewable heat and power projects, smart grids, and private wire systems.
I began my career with an MoD engineering apprenticeship, studied at Cardiff University, worked at an international energy research organisation before completing a PhD in Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics.
I’m a Fellow of the Energy Institute, Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and a Chartered Member of CIBSE.
