Gary Lawson is the Managing Director of Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd (SBS), having overseen the company’s growth from its founding more than ten years ago to one of the leading principal decarbonisation contractors and turnkey service providers, delivering some of the largest Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund and Local Grant schemes.

During this time, Gary has been a hands-on leader, pivotal in overseeing SBS through several of its successful, large scale, multi-million-pound retrofit decarbonisation schemes up to £25m+ pa, driven by social change and supporting people with the five major crises of today – energy security, cost of living, health, housing and climate change.

SBS has also been shortlisted and won numerous prestigious industry awards over the years under Gary’s leadership from the likes of The Retrofit Academy, Unlock Net Zero and Construction News.

Gary has more than three decades of experience in the retrofit decarbonisation sector and through SBS, Gary is a member of the National Home Decarbonisation Group (NHDG), actively participating in working groups to improve policy, innovation and green skills. This helps to bring together the industry’s most influential stakeholders and realise the full potential of retrofit.
