Since Graham graduated in Building Services Engineering from Brunel University he has worked in the wider HVAC industry for over 34 years in a number of roles: designer, consultant, installer, and manufacturer, gaining experience in design and installation of all types of HVAC systems up to several £ million. For over 21 years he has worked specifically in the field of heat pumps & heat pump systems and has a wide knowledge of many different heat pump genres# including air-, exhaust air-, water- & ground- source, utilising either electricity or gas as the motive source.
Graham has worked as a part time Associate lecturer at Southampton Solent University in the Science of the Built Environment Department
He has worked closely with MCS for some 7 years, initially on the Heat Pump Working Group (currently deputy chair), Steering Group, Standards Management Group and was part of a small team acting as a Management Panel in the transition of MCS from the authority of BEIS to becoming an independent limited company (MCS Ltd) under the direction of a registered charity (MCS Charity).
Graham currently works as a part-time consultant to the Heat Pump Association* (HPA), the UK Trade Association for Heat Pump manufacturers, distributors, and associated technologies, as well as a freelance heat pump and renewable energy consultant. He also is leading the development of a Heat Pump Good Practice guide funded by MCS, EST (with additional support from the Scottish government), HPA and RECC.
