Deputy Director of Heat Networks , Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

John Allison is the Deputy Director for Heat Networks Delivery in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, with responsibility for overseeing the Green Heat Network Fund and Heat Network Efficiency Scheme, and for the implementation of Heat Network Zoning. Prior to taking up this role in September 2023 John led the department’s Net Zero Buildings Strategy team and worked in the Clean Heat directorate overseeing delivery of the Renewable Heat Incentive and setting up the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. He has experience in a wide range of policy areas including science and research, innovation, and enterprise, and started his career at HM Treasury
