Jo Elnaugh
Jo Elnaugh is a Chartered Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer specialising in low carbon design and climate mitigating development across the built environment. Jo trained at Central Saint Martins, the Centre for Alternative Technology and the University of Westminster, building a design led and environmental foundation that continues to shape her practice.
Jo has worked across a range of architectural scales, with much of her experience within large, complex, heritage led public projects, including the Museum of London at West Smithfield and the Houses of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme. Her work is underpinned by strong technical understanding, collaborative working and a strategic approach. She has experience managing Level 2 BIM models and recognises the role of digital coordination and data in delivering improved outcomes.
Now working as Principal Sustainability and Built Environment Specialist within the Climate and Planning Unit (CaPU) at Essex County Council, Jo supports the delivery of sustainable development across Greater Essex. Working in climate in planning her role bridges policy, development management and strategic design, she sits on the Essex Quality Review Panel. Jo is passionate about aligning design quality, with value, and environmental responsibility towards a low carbon future.
