Kate has over 20 years experience working in the energy retrofit and wider construction refurbishment sector. She is a skilled project manager with experience delivering a wide range of projects from £1million plus commercial fit-out projects, bespoke energy retrofit of traditional buildings and £7 million programmes of energy efficiency improvements. She has specialist knowledge of solid wall insulation, building physics and issues around quality installations, and a particular interest in sympathetic retrofit of traditional construction buildings. In her current role at CSE Kate is applying this experience to developing the contractor supply chain to support the ‘able to pay’ retrofit sector. Prior to this Kate was responsible for developing and delivering the Warm Up Bristol private householder energy efficiency scheme for Bristol City Council, as well as a delivering a number of commercial energy efficiency improvements in museums, schools and other municipal buildings. As founding director of Bristol Green Doors Kate has organised open homes events showcasing real life examples of domestic low carbon improvements to generate interest in and normalise energy retrofitting behaviour most recently through CSE’s Futureproof in 2019.
