Madeleine Pauker is a postgraduate researcher at the Energy Demand Research Centre, University of Sussex. Her research explores place-based retrofit programmes and their relationship to national retrofit policy in the UK, drawing on case study partnerships with retrofit providers. Her PhD examines the history of area-based schemes and public investment in housing improvement. Madeleine's work uses insights from past and present approaches to retrofit to explore alternative funding and finance models, integrating retrofit with essential repairs, and methods of community participation.
