Maiia Williams
I am a low-energy and PassivHaus architect specialising in PassivHaus, EnerPHit, and deep-retrofit projects. Since 2013, I’ve worked alongside some of the UK’s pioneers in the PassivHaus field, contributing to innovative low-energy and zero-carbon projects ranging from 300-year-old Listed Buildings and homes in conservation areas to certified new-build private and affordable housing.
My experience also includes four years in Whole Life Carbon consultancy, helping to shape low-carbon futures at both the urban scale and within smaller residential developments. This dual background allows me to approach every project with a strong technical understanding of carbon performance paired with a hands-on knowledge of building physics and delivery.
In 2024, I founded my practice Maiia Williams Architects to support building professionals and homeowners across Surrey and South West London. My mission is to deliver high-quality, comfortable, and future-proof homes while closing the performance gap between design intent and real-world outcomes. Education sits at the heart of my practice — empowering clients to understand the value of good design, robust detailing, and long-term resilience.
