Malcolm is a well-known and respected leader within the UK construction industry with over 40 years construction experience. He joined Baxall from John Laing Plc, as a Contracts Manager in 1986 and he became Managing Director and a business partner in the early 1990s. Malcolm was a key figure with the National Federation of Builders (NFB) and his active involvement has included representation at National and European Government levels and ongoing support for SMEs and localism.
Malcolm has positioned Baxall at the forefront of a somewhat diverse and changeable industry and at operational level, Malcolm promotes exceptional standards, a customer-focused culture and collaborative team approach to every project, leading by example and encouraging the same. He maintains up-to-date awareness of each contract and volunteers strategic input and guidance to both clients and delivery teams, applying his extensive knowledge and expertise to create cost, time and energy efficient solutions and alternatives.
Baxall’s strapline is ‘Buildings Built on Teamwork’ and, in parallel to the Construction 2025 Agenda, this is exactly how Malcolm has driven the company since the Latham Report in 1994. Having introduced and engaged both a safety-conscious and BIM culture throughout Baxall, Malcolm has championed best practice and sustainable solutions and shares knowledge industry-wide through workshops, seminars and representation on local BIM and KPI Hubs. Malcolm’s commitment to continuous improvement and developing people to their full potential has been an intrinsic part of Baxall’s culture.
