Mark Lynn is Managing Director of Cumbria based ERI Ltd, best known for their Thermafleece brand of natural fibre insulation. Mark is also Vice-Chair of the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) where he plays a key role in developing the organisation’s strategy and is also a member of the ASBP's their Natural Fibre Insulation Group where he has been responsible for much of the Group’s communications.
A graduate from the Universities of Edinburgh and Essex, Mark is a chemist with a background in material protection and timber preserving. He has held senior technical roles within Rentokil Initial and was co-chair of the European arsenic and chromium toxicological task force, where he helped deliver industry voluntary agreements that led to the industry’s transformation to lower impact preservatives.
The last 15 years have been spent in the field of natural and sustainable insulation, overseeing a transformation in recent years as his business and their brands gain more mainstream recognition. This was preceded by a 4-year spell as an adviser to small and medium sized businesses which gave Mark a great insight into the perils and pitfalls of growing a small business.
Mark writes regularly and believes strongly that sustainable resources are not infinite resources and that our shift to ever more healthy and sustainable materials must be matched by an ever more healthy and sustainable way of consuming them.
