Mark Nason
Mark studied ecology at Bangor University in the 1990s and has worked in environmental research and education ever since, beginning with a PhD and post-doctoral research on habitat creation at post-industrial sites. He is currently Head of Professional Practice at the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, where he promotes high standards of ecological practice for the benefit of nature and society and works to support a rewarding, inclusive professional sector.
A qualified teacher, Mark has designed and introduced a wide range of professional training and qualifications, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, apprenticeships and, most recently, Skills Bootcamps. His career has focused on linking evidence, education and practice to improve outcomes for people and the natural environment.
Mark is a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner with the Society for Ecological Restoration and serves on the Council of the British Society of Soil Science, where he also chairs the Outreach Committee.
