Mirko, Senior Sustainability Consultant for international inter-disciplinary engineering and design consultancy Hilson Moran, is an experienced Sustainability Specialist, BREEAM AP and fully qualified Architect with over 13 years’ experience within the construction industry.
With expertise in the circular economy, embodied carbon reduction strategies and whole life carbon assessments of buildings, his breadth of experience has led to him playing a significant role in supporting the voluntary group London Energy Transformation Initiative (LETI) leading the 2019 Embodied Carbon workstream.
Recent project experience includes new-build and refurbishment developments as sustainability advisor on projects for Great Portland Estates, Quadrant Estates, British Land, Co-operative and University of Cambridge.
Whilst working for the BRE Research & Strategic Advisory group, Mirko was the technical lead of the Environmental Evaluation Module of the Circular Building Assessment (CBA) part of the EU Horizon 2020 - Building as Material Banks (BAMB 2020) research project which aims to enable a circular economy approach by integrating environmental and economic assessments, BIM, ‘Materials Passports’, reversible building design and social values.
His previous project experience includes newbuild and refurbishment developments across sectors such as infrastructure (Gatwick Airport), commercial (Argent T2 building in Kings Cross, Tishman Speyer Verde SW1 in Victoria), residential, leisure and sport (Warwick University Sports Hub), masterplanning (Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership | Enviro-Tech Enterprise Zone).
