Pat Hermon
Pat is a sustainability consultant running his own consultancy with a combined 23 years’ experience specialising in LCA, LCC, materials efficiency, circular economy, sustainable construction methods and environmental assessment.
Following time at AECOM in London, he spent a few years in Australia, providing life cycle design feedback for eTool. Notable projects include The New Perth Stadium and world first EN15978 compliant peer-reviewed LCA on the Sustainability Learning Centre.
He then moved back home to the UK and built up the eTool UK office, delivering LCA/LCC consulting and software to a host of building and infrastructure sustainability professionals. He has ran LCA training for over 60 practitioners, built the BRE IMPACT LCA database and developed the LCA programme with HS2 - reporting against their LCA/materials efficiency metrics. He has completed over 200 LCAs and helped quantify over 300,000 tons of CO2e savings.
Then as the technical lead for the BRE EPD scheme he spent over 5 years overseeing EPD quality, He produced or verified over 70 EPDs, published and maintained the BRE PCR and managed the software development of BRE LINA their in house EPD tool.
He is an active expert on the CEN350 BSI B558 Committee (Sustainability in Construction Works), working to improve international standards in LCA. He also held seats on the board of Ecopaltform, the Steering Group of the Whole Life Carbon Network, contributed to the Net Zero Standard and lectures in LCA at Westminster, Bath and Brighton University.
