Dr Richard Miller
Richard Miller has 40 years’ practical experience in innovation and sustainability across multiple industries and the public sector. He is a Founder Director of consulting company Miller-Klein Associates Ltd, and Associate Director of the Connected Places Catapult. While working with the UK Government’s innovation agency, Innovate UK, he developed, secured funding for, and implemented their built environment and urban living programmes.
The built environment programme focused specifically on supporting innovation in low-impact buildings, both new-build and refurbishing the existing stock. The urban living programme looked at the challenges of cities and urban areas. How do we create urban areas that have a strong economy, great quality of life and are sustainable?
He was the lead researcher and author on the reports “Scaling up Retrofit 2050” published by the IET and Nottingham Trent University in 2018, and “Tackling the Housing Deep Retrofit Challenge” publish by the Connected Places Catapult in 2020.
