Sarah Castle
Sarah Castle is an architect and co-founding director of IFDO, a multi-award-winning practice dedicated to creating places with genuine social impact. With nearly two decades of experience, her work spans community-led regeneration, sustainable retrofit and large-scale masterplanning — consistently guided by the belief that good design should work for everyone.
Her projects include award-winning community led developments across Hastings Commons (including the Observer Building), the regeneration of Wythenshawe Civic for Manchester City Council, and the Civic Trust Award-winning Brent Cross Town Primary Substation.
Recognised in the Architects' Journal 40 Under 40 and named a Future 50 Global Leader by the Project Management Institute, Sarah is a sought-after speaker who regularly shares her expertise nationally and internationally, including a recent keynote at the Utopian Hours global cities conference in Turin. She is a member of both the Salford Design Review Forum and the Places Matter Design Review Panel.
As a founder of Part W — the campaign group for gender equity in the built environment — Sarah is a passionate advocate for inclusive design processes and equitable outcomes, championing a built environment that genuinely reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.
