Silvie Jacobi
Dr Silvie Jacobi is a geographer and consultant specialising in non-profit strategy and community-led development. Holding a Joint PhD from King's College London and Humboldt University Berlin, she brings together academic, operational and leadership experience across research, governance and organisational practice.
She has extensive experience setting up and leading charitable and community organisations, including overseeing capital developments and managing significant funding programmes such as the Good Growth Fund. She works with organisations navigating structural transformation, with a particular focus on accountability, decision-making culture, and the conditions that enable meaningful change to take hold.
Her research interests span fine art and urban geography, with a focus on how places and spaces are activated and shaped by arts and community uses. She is interested in how creative practice can catalyse urban change, how cultural organisations can build local agency, and what organisational and policy conditions support or constrain these possibilities.
Born in East Germany, she works primarily in the UK and Germany, and her practice is rooted in London lived experience. She is based in London and works across research, advisory and voluntary sector roles.
