Sophie Norton is a Senior Consultant specialising in the conservation, reuse and retrofit of historic and traditional buildings. With 20 years of experience and a PhD in Conservation Studies, she brings deep technical expertise in heritage conservation, area based retrofit and supply chain capability building. Sophie is widely recognised for her evidence based approach to improving retrofit outcomes for older buildings, particularly through developing and delivering training, apprenticeships and skills programmes for the heritage construction sector. She has led major programmes for Historic England and worked with local authorities, regional retrofit hubs and community energy organisations to unlock the potential of harder to treat historic homes. A regular conference speaker, Sophie champions innovation, practical problem solving and high quality retrofit that protects the significance and long term performance of historic buildings.
