Taran Livingston BSc MSc (Hons) is a Director of Planning at LUC and heads up its Strategic Planning service. Taran re-joined LUC in January 2024, following two years spent in New Zealand working for Auckland Council as a Lead Analyst in the Natural Environment Strategy team, where she advised on planning for climate change resilience. She led a team scoping the development of a Green-Blue Network spatial tool for Auckland. Taran has over 20 years’ experience of strategic planning in the UK, including plan preparation, technical evidence studies as well as Sustainability Appraisals and Habitats Regulations Assessments of development plans. Taran has an excellent understanding of the multifunctional benefits of green infrastructure and how to embed GI delivery within local plans. Taran has worked on a number of GI studies for local authorities and over the past 18 months has worked closely with the GLA’s GI team, to lead LUC's inputs to the scoping, method development and spatial data analysis for the London Green Infrastructure Framework (LGIF).
