Futurebuild 2020 Big Innovation Pitch Winner

Rype Office was declared the overall winner of the Big Innovation Pitch. Delivered in partnership with BRE, the competition is the industry’s largest callout for innovation to date.

Rype Office, is a Circular Economy office furniture company, responding to the challenge around sustainable and health-promoting interiors. Jamie Harbour, Rype Office Relationship Manager, said: “We are honoured to have won the Big Innovation Pitch. It’s fantastic that Futurebuild embraces the Circular Economy and champions sustainability. Winning will help us continue to spread the word and increase awareness around our innovations.”

Big innovation pitch winner

With innovation running through the veins of Futurebuild, we were delighted to announce the return of the Big Innovation Pitch competition in conjunction with BRE.

Covering each of the six sections of the event the finalists in the running addressed one of the following six challenges facing the built environment:

  • Buildings: retrofitted, re-used, net positive and built to perform
  • Critical Infrastructure: delivering integrated green, grey, blue and social infrastructure
  • Energy: accurate data for carbon accounting and reduced clean energy usage
  • Interiors: sustainable and health promoting
  • Offsite: reliability and efficiency combined with creative placemaking
  • Resourceful Materials: thinking circular to reduce, reuse and recycle

Six innovations have been selected from each section to pitch on day one of Futurebuild (03 March) on the Keynote Stages. A winner from each Keynote Stage will then return on day two (04 March) to pitch in the Conference Arena where a panel of a renowned judges will crown the overall champion.
