UKRI Innovation Pavilion

UKRI Innovation Pavilion

As part of the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) presence at Futurebuild, UKRI showcased a host of CR&D funded projects from the ISCF Transforming Construction Challenge that are improving productivity and performance of the UK construction sector.

The following exhibitors showcased their funded projects on stand F130:

Price & Myers

Price & MyersDigital design of building structures for optimised cost and carbon performance
Price & Myers are working in conjunction with the University of Cambridge on the Innovate UK funded project “Digital design of building structures for optimised cost and carbon performance”, and we are showcasing here to demonstrate the prototype of the software we have been developing over the past year. When complete, the software will enable the user to rapidly assess multiple structural framing options and compare each one in against embodied carbon and relative cost. This will become a vital tool in the race to reduce the environmental impact of materials used within new construction, which currently account for a significant proportion of global emissions.

3D Repo

3D RepoAEC Delta Mobility
3D Repo are showcasing the CR&D funded project for which we are a lead partner; AEC Delta Mobility. The project was funded from the ISCF Transforming Construction Challenge and aims to increase productivity, performance and quality in the construction industry. The project focuses on the inefficient processes whereby software users manually exchange large files and 3D models to communicate design changes - called deltas - between designers, integrators and fabricators. 3D Repo is a multi-award-winning digital platform for BIM data. 3D Repo is transforming how construction projects are designed and delivered by democratising data, mitigating risk, and reducing complexity for everyone involved including architects, engineers, and contractors.

Keltbray Piling are showcasing the CR&D funded project for which we are a lead partner; “HIPER Pile”. The project was funded from the ISCF Transforming Construction Challenge, and is focused on delivering unprecendented changes to the deep foundations industry. The project aims to deliver significant savings in embodied carbon, promote circular economy in construction and develop energy storage and generation systems.

Carapace Slate Ltd

Carapace Slate LtdMARTF (Modular Automated Roof Tile Factory)
Carapace Slate are showcasing the Innovate UK funded project: MARTF (Modular Automated Roof Tile Factory). In collaboration with the MTC and part of the Transforming Construction Challenge fund pot, Carapace are developing a dynamic and repeatable factory in a box capable of manufacturing its patent-protected, snap fit composite roof tiles. The fully integrated end-to-end system has been designed to be monitored and operated using IoT technology and will act as a modular blueprint for subsequent systems that can be readily optimised over numerous iterations, using the latest technologies to create a future-proof high volume manufacturing concept.
