ACAN! SHOWCASING IMPACT

At the ACAN! stand, you can engage with low-carbon natural materials, connect with changemakers, and experience hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, and networking opportunities—all designed to showcase real impact. ACAN! will host thought-provoking talks, hands-on activities, and live demonstrations, including:

Expert-led discussions on materials, embodied carbon, lifecycle analysis, and regenerative design, featuring speakers like Duncan Baker-Brown, Nick White (Natural England), and Nick Newman (U-build).
Live demonstrations of cob building, earth flooring, seaweed crafting, and other natural techniques.
Interactive workshops on circular economy mapping, biodiversity net gain, and community-led sustainability projects.
Networking events, including a lively bar takeover on Tuesday evening.

Big Impact on the Materials Stage

On Tuesday, 4th March at 4:30 pm, ACAN! will lead a panel discussion on ethical and environmental decision-making in architecture, exploring frameworks for responsible design and industry accountability.

I have come to Futurebuild to gain an insight on the latest information and how companies are working on their digital innovation for future developments. I’ve joined a digital seminar and it was really fruitful and insightful. I really like how the show was planned out and the stands are fascinating.

I’m an architect and it’s my first time at futurebuild. We recently started a new project so I’m here to look for new ideas and also see what’s going on in the industry. I’ve really enjoyed all the seminars and conferences I’ve attended so far, really knowledgeable and covering about net zero. Overall a good event.

Show seems to be very good. Seems to be what we want good diverse range of exhibitors. Have been visiting every year since last 5 years. Trend that have the most impact is Quality assurance and policy certification.

I come to the show every year I've been coming since the days of ecobuild. I work in sustainability on the renewable sky working mainly on solar. So I catch up with a lot of my London based customers here, It’s an interesting event for for sustainability professionals. So more or less glad to come.

So I came here today because I was speaker but at the same time I've been here four times already. What amazed me the most is that I can see the show growing and growing and kind of the good advancements that we are doing in sustainability and how that interacts with digitalisation and innovation is mind blowing, and it's a show that I recommend to anyone that is in the industry.

I’ve always come for the last 10 years because everyone I know is here and what I do is introduce people I know to each other, sort of like a wing man in a professional setting. The great thing about the sessions are the skills talk cos so much of it in this industry has to do with collaboration.

I visit Futurebuild because usually I am on a stand, so I am working on the show. It’s a great place to meet new ppl and catch up with exiting clients. The highlight for today was meeting the world’s nominated female best builder, Barbara Jones. So she’s been nominated by the CIOB and she’s an amazing force of nature. I suppose the biggest impact is the concept of net zero but no one really knows what it is as for different ppl it means different things. But there is the net zero carbon standard coming out so hopefully it will mean the same thing for everyone.
