Natural Materials in practice

03 March / 15.15 - 16.00

How can we construct comfortable, healthy, high-quality, energy efficient, low-carbon buildings with the technologies and methods available to us today?

The culmination of research and knowledge sharing is exemplified in real buildings. We will hear from architects that are experts at working with natural materials as they discuss two exemplary case-study projects – critically examining the choices made at design stage, through the build process, to consequences on the outcomes for the end-users. We will discuss the benefits of choosing bio-based construction materials, the challenges faced, and lessons learnt for future projects.
