You will learn the skills to do the job during your time spent working in our workshops and the time that you spend in college. You will gain experience of working in our modern workshops and get first-hand experience of our cutting edge working practices; you will be supported during your apprenticeship by experienced and friendly work colleagues. During your apprenticeship you will attend Kingston College for your off the job training. Engineering Technicians in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Sector are predominantly involved in highly skilled, complex work

You will learn the skills to do the job during your time spent working in our workshops and the time that you spend in college. You will gain experience of working in our modern workshops and get first-hand experience of our cutting edge working practices; you will be supported during your apprenticeship by experienced and friendly work colleagues.

We have a requirement to recruit two apprentices, for our Croydon site. A fitter is responsible for the mechanical fitting, assembly and strip and survey and test of components in our Voith product ranges which cover a wide range of industries from oil and gas to marine, commercial vehicles, and rail. You will learn the skills to do the job during your time spent working in our workshops and the time that you spend in college, ensuring that you learn how to maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

You will gain experience of working in our modern workshops and get first-hand experience of our cutting edge working practices; you will be supported during your apprenticeship by experienced and friendly work colleagues who will support you as you progress through the stages of you apprenticeship with us. On successful completion of the apprenticeships, you will gain an NVQ level 3 and will have a solid platform to develop within our business.

In the initial 24 months period the successful applicant will learn the key skills to become a mechanical / electro fitter. You will be given the opportunity to;

Develop practical and theoretical knowledge both at college and within the workshop at Voith.
Key learning areas will include:

Working safely and efficiently in an engineering environment
The use interpretation and communication of technical information
Hand fitting and machining techniques.
Maintenance and testing of mechanical components. Electrical and mechanical science
Mathematics for engineers.
