Net Zero Pioneers: tepeo, Hanson, A2M architects, Viessmann

This session will see product and innovation presentations from our Net Zero Pioneers – those leading the way at scale on the journey to net zero.

Chair: Andrew Cameron Smith, Content & Editorial Director, Unlock Net Zero

13.30-13.50 The challenges of decarbonising heat
17% of the UK’s emissions come from providing heating and hot water for our homes. If the UK is to meet its target of Net Zero we need to make big changes to the way we build future homes and to the way we heat our current housing stock. So what are the challenges and solutions to decarbonising heat when we have 28 million diverse homes within the UK and a need for so many more?
Presenter: Johan du Plessis, CEO and founder, tepeo

13.55-14.15 Low carbon concrete
Reducing the carbon emissions associated with concrete is of critical importance throughout the construction supply chain. This presentation focuses on how Hanson will reduce CO2 emissions in the long term and what can be done now to specify low carbon concrete.
Presenter: Ian Clements,
Concrete Commercial Director, Hanson

14.20-14.40 The world we need
Is it possible to decarbonize the earth’s future? Can we design buildings that reduce environmental impact, but also regenerate nature?
During this pitch Brussels-based company A2M will showcase a selection of innovative beacon projects (ranging from passive housing over circular and CO2-neutral building to retrofitting) that serve as an inspiration to regenerate the new world that we need.
Presenter: Sebastian Moreno-Vacca, Architect and Founding partner, A2M architects

14.45-15.05 Viessmann’s vision on energy autarky for domestic homes
Viessmann will elaborate forthcoming solutions for merging new technologies such as PV systems, energy storage, heat pumps and HEMS effectively into domestic homes to reducing reliance on the grid, energy costs and carbon at a local level.
Presenter: Christian Engelke, Technical Director, Viessmann Limited
