Build the Change by The Day & LEGO Group student competition

Online newspaper for schools The Day, together with the LEGO Group, are giving students the chance to have a say on sustainability issues and express their hopes for the future through a weekly free sustainability resource, called Build the Change Tuesday. Students debate and discuss sustainability issues in the news, then design their own innovative solutions to make a real change using creative materials or LEGO® bricks.

Last term 8-13 year olds were challenged to design sustainable human and animal habitats as part of a Build the Change Tuesday competition.

In this session, you will hear from six young winners who will showcase their designs and inspire a panel of real-life changemakers.

Chair: Dr Oliver Jones, Research Director, Ryder Architecture

Judging panel:
Mak Gilchrist, Founding Director, Edible Bus Stop (EBS)
Sam Cryer, CEO and Founder, Thermulon
Natasha Boulding, CEO and Co-Founder, Low Carbon Materials
David Pallash, Senior Manager – Responsibility, LEGO Group
