Building Performance Researcher, Fourwalls
Ian is a Building Performance Researcher who specialises in evaluating the energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality and occupant comfort of new and existing buildings. He is involved in field-based research programmes to evaluate the design and construction/retrofit processes. These usually include post-construction/retrofit performance testing and long-term, in-use performance monitoring. Many of the field studies provide evidence of the performance gap and are used to inform building standards. Ian is part of the technical team that supports the UK and Welsh governments in developing their respective revisions of the Building Regulations for Parts F (ventilation) and L (conservation of fuel and power).
