My new dark red climate stripe for 2024 show that it was the hottest year yet. Ed Hawkins, Professor of Climate Science, University of Reading in  The Conversation 10th January 2025

The data is in. 2024 was the warmest year on record, and probably in the whole of human history – about 1.6°C warmer than the period before widespread industrialisation. This is an area of risk where the very likely outcomes of the failure to act on global warming are known – so do we take action, delay or ignore?
