2021 saw the launch of the long-awaited Heat and Buildings Strategy. But many people felt this stopped short of outlining a vision for decarbonising 27 million homes in 30 years. Industry bodies such as the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) are calling for a National Retrofit Strategy treating our homes as a national infrastructure priority. Is this needed or are we on track as it is?
