Sarah Butler is an Energy Innovation Programme Manager within the UK Government Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. Her current role focuses on innovative programmes and projects seeking to support a smarter, more flexible and decarbonised energy system. This includes leading the Net Zero Innovation Portfolio’s up to £65m Flexibility Innovation Programme. Sarah has worked in climate change and energy across international, national and local settings, including roles in climate change mitigation policy and economics at the United Nations, managing EU funded smart city demonstrator programmes, and delivering innovative low carbon technologies and infrastructure.
