The Heat Pump Ready innovation programme supports the development and deployment of solutions needed to accelerate high-density, cost-effective installation of domestic heat pumps in the UK.
It supports 28 innovative projects aiming to address five key challenges to the sector:
o Improving the heat pump customer journey
o Improving the survey, design and installation process for heat pumps
o Optimising performance and reducing the running cost of heat pumps using smart and flexible home energy systems
o Finance models to support heat pump deployment
o Innovation in heat pump manufacturing
On top of this, the Heat Pump Ready programme, support four projects looking to roll-out heat pumps at high-density in specific areas of the UK.
The Heat Pump Ready innovation programme is funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero as part of their Net Zero Innovation Portfolio (NZIP).
Research, collaboration, and knowledge sharing are managed by the The Carbon Trust with support from Ipsos UK and Technopolis Group.
